ITDA vegetable pack house at Seethampeta, Srikakulam district, assisted by APEDA.
Where the cold chain actually starts
A pack house is the first cold link after the field. Produce arrives warm from harvest; it is washed, graded, pre-cooled and packed before it ever sees a truck. Get the pre-cooling right and the produce reaches the market days fresher. Skip it, and no amount of refrigeration downstream recovers what was lost in the first few hours.
Built for a public client
This facility was built for the Integrated Tribal Development Agency with APEDA assistance, so that growers in the Seethampeta area could handle their produce to export-grade standards close to where it is grown. Public-sector work carries its own discipline — measured quantities, tendered rates, inspection at every stage — and that discipline is the same one we apply to private projects.
